HistoryThe Child Care Association of W.A was formed in 1972, and was responsible for lobbying the Federal Government to provide funds for training for Child Care workers. The first training that was initiated was the Child Care Certificate (CCC) which was followed by the entry level training the Introduction to Child Care. The Association has been involved in quality issues/training/the development of programmes/updating regulations and Industrial relations. Regulations were formulated with industry & Government collaboration, with Western Australia being the first state to have legislated Child Care Regulations. The first Industrial Award for child care workers was developed in W.A by the private child care industry. The emphasis has always been on developing quality programmes and efficient service delivery. |
